Epic Fall Engagement Shoot | Mueller State Park

If you’ve never witnessed a Colorado autumn in the mountains, you’re missing a little bit of magic in your life. Coming from the northern Midwest—where oaks and maples paint the countryside bright red and orange—I wasn’t expecting to be particularly wowed by fall in Colorado. I was quickly proven wrong.

Enter September—and sometimes early October in this year’s case. For a few blissful, glorious weeks, the mountains become alight in golden hues. It’s a bit of a game, or a hunt. Where oh where will peak aspen leaf peeping be today?

K + R timed their trip to Colorado perfectly, without even trying. When they reached out and told me where they were staying and where they’d like their engagement photos taken, I knew we’d make magic among the aspens. But I had no idea it would be this next level.

Mueller State Park just happened to be at peak aspen viewing for this epic autumn shoot and I’m so glad I had the privilege to capture K + R’s love among the leaves.
