A Garden of the Gods Microwedding | Colorado Springs Wedding Photographer

On a crisp fall morning, the Garden of the Gods in Colorado awakens with an ethereal beauty. As the golden sun blankets the landscape, the towering red rock formations come alive in a kaleidoscope of colors, casting long shadows across the aptly named park. The air is infused with the earthy scent of pine, as a gentle breeze carries the sound of rustling leaves, adding a symphony of nature to the already breathtaking scenery. With each step, one can't help but marvel at the sheer grandeur and majesty of the ancient rock formations, standing tall and proud against the cerulean sky. Truly, a fall morning at the Garden of the Gods is a feast for the senses, an unparalleled testament to the beauty of nature.

This is what our senses feasted on this beautiful autumn morning for A + H’s Garden of the Gods microwedding. Together with their loved ones (including their sweet pup), these two lovebirds said their vows atop the red rocks followed by a lovely little picnic. Lowkey yet precious, this celebration felt remarkably true to who they are as a couple.

Tips for a Garden of the Gods Wedding (Updated for 2024)

Garden of the Gods is located in Colorado Springs and is quite the natural marvel. Red rocks emerge from the ground and create a tapestry of beauty as far as the eye can see. It’s a lovely place to say, “I do”. Whether for an elopement or microwedding, here are a few things to keep in mind for a Garden of the Gods wedding celebration:

  1. Because Garden of the Gods is such a popular destination, I always recommend planning an elopement or microwedding in the park on a weekday. Bonus points if you can also hold the celebration at sunrise. This will ensure the best chance of having as much privacy as possible.

  2. You don’t need a permit and it won’t cost you any money, which is pretty awesome! But this also means spots in the park are at a first come, first serve basis. So again, if you can plan for a less crowded time for your microwedding, do so.

  3. No receptions are allowed at the park unless you’re having a picnic (like H + A!) at the Scotsman or South Spring Canyon Picnic Areas.

  4. There are 6 designated locations within the park for ceremonies.

Jaycee Plaza (Chuckwagon Pavillion) (50 people)

    Sentinel Plaza (25 people)

    Three Graces Plaza (25 people)

High Point (Parking Lot #9) (50 people)

    Scotsman Picnic Area (25 people)

South Spring Canyon Area (50 people)

  5. Please be respectful of other park users! As I’ve mentioned before, this is a popular destination so it’s important to respect other visitors and allow everyone the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful place.
